Signal Missing - Intermittent Fault
ECM-6120 ENGINE COOLING FAN RELAY, FAULTY SIGNAL
SIGNAL MISSING - INTERMITTENT FAULT
Checking component and wiring
Check engine cooling fan (FC) relay connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults
Check power supply cable for an intermittent open-circuit according to Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults, also check that the fuse has not blown.
Check cable between engine control module (ECM) # A6 and engine cooling fan (FC) relay # IN2 for an intermittent open-circuit according to Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults
Remedy as necessary
Other information
- Connecting the breakout box/accessing the control module Connecting the Breakout Box (ECM)
- For information about signals, see Diagnostic Parameters and Pinout Values.
- The engine cooling fan (FC) relay is supplied with power via fuse 11A/1
Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
