Checking for permanent or intermittent faults

- Ignition on.
Check that window operates by raising/lowering window to its end stops.

Does window operate?

Yes - Intermittent fault

No - Checking the connectors

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the connectors

- Ignition off.
Check control unit and wire connector (54/3R, 54/10 or 54/11 and 3/126 or 3/127) for contact resistance and oxidation as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , and for a loose contact as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Intermittent faults Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults.
Check especially for damage.

Additional information:
- To access the door control unit, see Driver's door module / passenger door module (DDM/PDM), replacing Driver's Door Module/Passenger Door Module (DDM/PDM), Replacing.

Continue - Checking the wires and components

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the wires and components
Check that main fuse (11A/2) in engine compartment relay/fuse box is intact.
If control unit is on the left side, check that interior fuse (11C/35) in interior fuse box is intact.
If control unit is on the right side, check that interior fuse (11C/36) in interior fuse box is intact.
Check the wire between control unit 12B and the battery for a short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the wire between control unit 9B and ground: Check front left or right seat support for a short circuit to ground as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , and for an open circuit as described in Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Additional information:
- With ignition off, voltage between control unit 12B and ground should be battery voltage.
- To connect the test box, see Connecting the breakout box Connecting the Breakout Box.
- For information on signals and additional values, see Signal specification Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters.

Fault-tracing information
If the fault is intermittent, do not verify fault-tracing if the fault does not recur.
It is possible to view the information again, or leave fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC).

Do you want to view the information again?
