Faulty Signal. Permanent Fault
Faulty signal. Permanent fault
Checking yaw rate sensor current rate
- Ignition off
- Check the ABS control module and yaw rate sensor connectors. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. See Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
- Ignition on
- Read off the yaw rate sensor present value.
The reading should be approximately 2.5 V.
Is the value correct?
OK - Fault Found
Low - Checking the wiring
High - Checking the wiring
-------------------------------------------------
Checking the wiring
Check the wiring between the yaw rate sensor connector:
- terminal #1 and control module terminal #42 (terminal #A42)
- terminal #2 and control module terminal #11 (terminal #A11)
- terminal #3 and control module terminal #27 (#A27).
Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check that the yaw rate sensor 1 is properly secured. Check that the bracket is properly secured to the floor.
Other information:
- To connect the breakout box, see Connecting the ABS/DSTC breakout box Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
- To disconnect yaw rate sensor 1, see Replacing the yaw rate sensor (1) and the lateral acceleration sensor in the center console (DSTC) Service and Repair

Hint: After the repair it is necessary to check that the fault has been rectified.
- Ignition off.
- Connect the connectors, install the components, etc.
- Ignition on.
- Check that the ABS warning lamp lights and goes out after approximately 2 seconds. If the lamp does not go out, the fault has not been rectified.
- Test-drive the car as described in Test driving Test Driving.
Check the ABS warning lamp during the test drive. If the warning lamp lights, return to the workshop and read the diagnostic trouble codes.
Does the lamp go out and stay out?

The fault should have been detected and remedied. As this is not the case fault-tracing has failed.
Exit fault-tracing for this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or make another attempt.
Do you want to exit fault-tracing?
