Handling Replaced SRS Airbags/Seat Belt Tensioners

Handling

Non-deployed airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners must not be deployed either in the car or when removed.

Remove them.
- Steering wheel with switches
- Panel and SRS passenger airbag module







Replaced airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners should be returned to Volvo standard procedures.

WARNING:
- Airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners must never be taken apart, repaired or transferred to another vehicle.
- Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed airbag/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner. This could deploy the airbag/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner!

Storage and transport







When storing or transporting airbag modules/pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners, they should be handled according to statutory requirements.
