Checking power supply

Checking power supply
1. The combined instrument panel does not work at all.
2. Combined instrument panel functions but the clock is reset when the ignition is switched off.

Select one of the above alternatives to continue fault-tracing.

1 - Checking 15- and 30-supply

2 - Checking 30 supply

Checking 15 supply
Check fuse 11C/10 in the integrated relay/fusebox in engine compartment. Replace if necessary.
Check cable between:
- fuse holder 11C/10 (rear terminal) and the ignition switch #30
- ignition switch #15A and fuse holder 11C/3, (rear terminal)
- fuse holder 11C/3 (rear terminal) and combined instrument panel #A18.
for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

Checking 30 supply
Check fuse 11C/8 in the integrated relay/fusebox in engine compartment. Replace if necessary.
Check cable between fuse 11C/8 in fusebox and combined instrument panel #A16 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

Continue - Verification

Checking 15- and 30-supply
Check fuse 11A/6 in the integrated relay/fusebox in engine compartment. Replace if necessary.
Check fuse 11C/8 and 11C/10 in the integrated relay/fusebox. Replace if necessary.
Check cable between fuse 11A/6 in the integrated relay/fusebox in engine compartment and fuse 11C/8 in central electrical unit for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.

15 supply
- Check cable between:
- fuse holder 11C/10 (rear terminal) in the fusebox and ignition switch #30.
- ignition switch #15A and fuse holder 11C/3, (rear terminal).
- fuse holder 11C/3 (rear terminal) and combined instrument panel #A18.
- for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Remedy as necessary.

30 supply
- Check cable between fuse 11C/8 in fusebox and combined instrument panel #A16 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
- Remedy as necessary.

Verification

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off.
- Reinstall connectors, components etc.
- Check combined instrument panel with ignition off and with ignition on.
