Check, connectors and cables
Check the control module, display and light switch connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check the cable between the control module #B4 and display terminal 14 and cable between display terminal 14 and light switch terminal 1 for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault and a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows:
- Ignition off.
- Reconnect connectors, reinstall components.
- RTI control module connected.
- Ignition on
- Activate the RTI system with the remote control.
Switch the car lighting on and off with the light switch, the display lighting should change.
