Disassembly

Preparations







- make a note of the anti-theft radio code.
- ignition off.
- disconnect the battery negative lead.

WARNING: During assembly, the ignition must be in position II. Then reconnect the battery negative lead. Ensure that nobody is in the car when the battery is being connected.

Ignition in position I







WARNING: The battery must not be connected when the SRS ignition cable connector is being removed or installed.

- Ignition switch to position I so that the steering wheel lock is disengaged.

Slacken off steering wheel screws







- Slacken off the two screws (Torx 30) on the reverse of the steering wheel. The screws must not be removed, but remain in the counter sunk holes in the steering wheel. Turn the steering wheel to access the screws.
