Checking The Wiring







- Disconnect the control unit connector.

If the seat-belt reminder comes on/ticks weakly the whole time, a short circuit to voltage supply has probably damaged the control unit. The short circuit must be remedied before any component is replaced.

Check whether there is a short circuit to voltage supply by:
Ignition on.

Measure the current between #34 and ground. The current should not be greater than 60 mA.

Check #34 for a short circuit to ground, as described in Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.

Check #34 for a short circuit to voltage supply, as described in Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.

Check also relay 212 (2/5) #6 for a short circuit to ground, as described in Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.

If no fault is found, test by using a new seat-belt reminder.

Do the necessary corrective action.
