Checking The Trip Computer Function Switch






Checking the trip computer function switch

Checking the 30-supply
Check that the function switch opens and closes between #2 (ground) and #3, #4 respectively #5 in the correct way.
Replace the function switch if necessary.
Check the signal cables between the function switch and the combined instrument panel for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , a short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault , and a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Check that all six trip computer functions can be selected using the function switch.

Hint: The voltage between signal cables and ground should be 5 V with the function switch disconnected.
