Replacing Refrigerant Pipe/Hose or Expansion Valve





Replacing Refrigerant Pipe/Hose or Expansion Valve

Special Tools: 999 5385, 999 5472

Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit

WARNING: Follow the safety instructions for work on air conditioning systems Refrigerant, safety regulations.

NOTE:
- When replacing a receiver/drier always replace O-rings in pipes and quick-release connectors.
- Always plug pipes and connectors when working on the climate control system.
- Read the section covering oil in the system Oil air conditioning (A/C) system, filling.

Removing refrigerant pipe/hose; compressor - condenser







- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant.
- Raise the car.
- Remove air baffle.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from condenser.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from compressor.

Installing refrigerant pipe/hose; compressor - condenser
- In reverse order.
- Tighten to 25 ±6 Nm.

Removing refrigerant pipe/hose; condenser - member







- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from its connector on the member.
- Raise the car.
- Remove air baffle.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from condenser.

Installing refrigerant pipe/hose; condenser - member
- In reverse order.
- Tighten to 25 ±6 Nm.

Removing refrigerant pipe/hose; member - evaporator







- Drain the system of refrigerant.
- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Remove control module box fresh air intake hose and exhaust hose.







- Diesel engines:
- Remove fuel filter with bracket.







- Remove expansion tank.







- Disconnect condenser pipe/hose from its connector on the member.
- Disconnect pipe from member.
- Disconnect pipe from evaporator with wrench 999 5385.

Removing expansion valve







- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant.
- Mark the position of the pipes in relation to each other at the flanged joint.
- Disconnect at the flanged joint.
- Remove expansion valve.

Installing expansion valve
- In reverse order.
- Tighten to 30 Nm.

Installing refrigerant pipe/hose; member - evaporator
- In reverse order.

Removing refrigerant pipe; evaporator - receiver drier







- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant.
- Remove control module box fresh air intake hose and exhaust hose.







- Diesel engines:
- Remove fuel filter with bracket.







- Remove expansion tank.







- Disconnect pipe from receiver drier with wrench 999 5472.
- Disconnect pipe from evaporator with wrench 999 5385.
- Remove pressure switch (Pressostat) from pipe.

Installing refrigerant pipe; evaporator - receiver drier
In reverse order.
