Replacing the engine pad

Front engine pad, replacement

Remove the torque rod
Remove the torque rod screw from the engine.
Slacken off the torque rod screw from the bodywork mounting slightly and place to one side.
Remove the nut from the engine pad
Remove:
- the torque rod screw
- the engine pad screw
Remove the old engine pad and install the new pad
Lift the engine slightly using a mobile jack 998 5972 JACK 998 5972 Jack.
Remove the old engine pad and install the new pad.
Caution! When installing, ensure that the engine pad locating pin is seated correctly.
Install:
- the engine pad screw
- the lower torque rod screws (new screws).
- the engine pad nut
- the upper torque rod screws (new screws).
Front engine pad, replacement
Note! Automatic transmission
Remove:
- the torque rod screw
- the engine pad screw
Remove:
- the engine cooling fan (FC), according to operation Replacing engine cooling fan (FC)
- the torque rod screw on the engine and slacken off the torque rod screw (slightly) in the bodywork mounting, push it to one side
Remove the nut from the engine pad and lift up the engine
Remove the nut from the engine pad.
Lift up the engine so that the engine pad can be removed.
Use a wooden block to protect the oil pan.
Install the new engine pad
Lower the engine.
Install:
- the engine pad nut
- the upper torque rod screw
- the engine cooling fan (FC), according to operation Replacing engine cooling fan (FC)
- the lower torque rod screw
- the engine pad screw
Right engine pad, replacement
Remove the right front wheel
Push the fender liner slightly to one side.
Remove the four engine pad screws.
Install the new engine pad
Lift the engine slightly so that the engine pad is released, use a wooden block and jimmy bar.
Install the new engine pad
Install the fender liner.
Reinstall the front wheel.
Replacing the rear engine pad
Remove:
- engine pad nut
- the torque rod screw
Remove:
- the torque rod screw
- the engine pad screw
Lift up the engine
Raise the engine a maximum of 30 mm . Use mobile jack 998 5972 JACK 998 5972 Jack.
Remove the two engine mounting screws and slacken off the third screw slightly.
Caution! Lifting the engine more than 30 mm (1.2 in) damages the inner constant velocity joint on the left-hand side.
Replace the engine pad
Remove the engine pad by lifting the collision protection system and engine mounting slightly.
Install the new engine pad and the three engine mounting screws in the transmission.
Install:
- the engine pad screw
- the new lower torque rod screw
- the new upper torque rod screw
- the engine pad nut
