Connecting the breakout box to the ABS control module




- Ignition off
- Expose the ABS control module. See
- Disconnect the ABS control module: First press in the catches on the rear of the cover (towards the wheel arch). Then carefully turn the cover upwards so that the lock catches release
- Check the control module and control module connectors to ensure that the male and female terminals are undamaged and secure (cannot be pressed in). Check that the cables to the female terminals are secured to the terminal pins
- In particular, check the terminal pins relevant to the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) / symptom. See Signal specification, ABS control module Signal Specification, ABS Control Module
- Connect adapter 951 1354 Adapter 25-pin ABS 850 951 1354 Adapter 25-Pin ABS 850 to the control module connector (wiring side). Connect breakout box 951 1428 Breakout box 951 1428 Breakout Box to the adapter
- The breakout box is designed to facilitate reading off the control module input and output signals when the control module is connected; and cable and component resistance when the control module is disconnected. The use of a breakout box reduces the risk of accidental short-circuits and damage to the connector pins.
