Replacing the Backrest Motor and Potentiometer

Preparations

Remove:







- the battery negative lead.
- the seat from the car.
- the upholstery.
- the locking washer from the drive shaft.
- Remove the screw securing the motor mounting.
- Pull out the drive shaft far enough that the motor with the potentiometer can be removed.
- Cut off the tie strap.
- Disconnect the connectors for the motor and the potentiometer.
- Remove one screw.







- Remove the potentiometer from the motor using a screwdriver.

NOTE: Check the position of the potentiometer on the motor before removing it.

- Replace the motor/potentiometer.
- Connect the motor and potentiometer.

Install:
- In reverse order.
