Checking backrest switch
- Ignition off.
Go into scrolling values and read off the status for the backrest switch.
Status should change from activation (lever raised) to non activation (lever released)
Does the status change?
Yes - Replacing the component
No - Checking for an open-circuit

Checking for an open-circuit
- Check wiring between the backrest switch and control module for an open-circuit.
- Disconnect the 2-pin connector.
Connect an ohmmeter between the ends of the cable.
The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohms if there is no open-circuit in the cable.

The readings show that the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has probably been caused by an open-circuit between the backrest switch and the control module.
Remedy or replace the cabling.

Note! After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows.
- Ignition off.
- Raise the lever and read status of backrest switch in scrolling values.
Move seat to entry position and return to original position.
Does the seat return to the original position?
Yes - VERIFIED
No - VERIFICATION FAILED
