Quarter Window Glass: Service and Repair

REPLACING FIXED SIDE WINDOW 4-DOOR






Protect the D post paintwork with tape before starting work.

REMOVING
- Slacken off panel from the inner D-post; the panel does not need to be dismantled.
- Remove the trim strip. Press out the trim strip at the rear edge and along the D post with a weatherstrip tool.
- Slide the front section of the molding forward.
- Push wire through PUR adhesive at the bottom of front corner.
- Attach handle to the piano wire on the outside and the counterhold on the inside.
- Carefully pull around the window.
- "Saw" at the clips try to get as close to the bodywork as possible.

INSTALLING
- If the window is being reused. Remove the PUR-bead with a chisel.
- Apply glass activator and glass primer.
- Apply PUR adhesive.
- Press the window into place by hand.
- Secure with tape.
- Install the trim strip.
- Press panel into place.
