Checking Wiring
Checking Wiring
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the collision sensor connector.
- Disconnect the control module connector.
Hint: The sensor transmits a live signal to the control module. This allows the control module to check communication with the side impact sensors. If the signal is missing, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored.
Check the connectors for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.
Check the cable between side impact sensor connector #1 and control module connector #45 for an open-circuit according Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults and for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults and for a short-circuit to ground.
Now repeat the reading between side impact sensor connector #2 and control module connector #20.
Remedy as necessary.
