Checking Components And Wiring
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the control module connector.
- Check the control module terminal pins visually.
- Check that the plastic pins are not damaged. Their function is to separate the short-circuiting element from the terminal pins when the control module is connected.
- If the plastic pins are damaged, the control module must be replaced according to SRS control module.
- Remove special tool 998 8695.
- Connect the control module.
- Ignition on.
Connect oscilloscope between seat belt tensioner #1 and ground.
The oscilloscope should now display a spiked pulse with an interval of approximately 500 ms
If the value deviates there is a short-circuit in the cable
Replace the cable harness.
NOTE: Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-232 or SRS-242 is stored after this reading is taken. Ignore the DTC which is stored as a result of taking this reading.

No - Repeat test
