Signal Too High - Intermittent Fault
Checking Cable
- Ignition off.
- Disconnect connector from seat belt tensioner,
- Ignition on.
Connect oscilloscope between seat belt tensioner #1 and ground. Measure for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to Checking wiring and terminals - Intermittent faults
The oscilloscope should now display a spiked pulse with an interval of approximately 500 ms.
If the value deviates it indicates that the cable is short-circuited. Replace the cable harness.
Also measure between seat belt tensioner #2 and ground.
The oscilloscope should not give a reading.
Remedy as necessary.
