Signal Too High - Intermittent Fault




Checking The Components







- Ignition on.

Connect an oscilloscope between passenger airbag #1 and #2. Check for an intermittent short circuit to voltage supply, as described in Checking wiring and terminals - Intermittent faults.

The oscilloscope should now show a spiked pulse with a period time of approximately 500 ms.

Also test between ground and airbag #2; the oscilloscope should show approximately 2 V.

If there are faults in the wires, the cable harness must be replaced. No repairs should be carried out on the cable harness.

Do the necessary corrective action.


NOTE: After this test, diagnostic trouble code SRS-222 is set. Ignore this code, which is set as a result of the test.
