- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the connector from the contact reel.

Connect an ohmmeter between contact reel #1 and ground. Check for a short-circuit to ground according to Checking wiring and terminals - Permanent faults.

Replace the cable harness if there is a short-circuit in the cable.

The contact reel must be replaced if the resistance is infinite.

Remedy as necessary.

After performing this procedure Verification
