Fault Tracing
AB B1 Checking Backrest Switch:
- Ignition off.
- Go into scrolling values and read off the status for the backrest switch.
- Status should change from activation (lever raised) to non activation (lever released)
Does the status alternate?
- Yes: Continue with AB B5.
- No: Continue with AB B2.
AB B2 Checking For an Open-Circuit:
- Check cables between backrest switch and control module for an open-circuit.
- Disconnect the two pin connector.
- Connect an ohmmeter between the ends of the cable.
- The ohmmeter should read approximately 0 ohm if the cable is intact.
If reading is OK continue with AB B3.
If reading is incorrect continue withAB B4.
AB B3 Replacing Component:
Try a new backrest switch. Then continue with AB B6.
AB B4 Fault-Tracing Information:
The measurement shows that the likely cause of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is that there has been an open-circuit between the backrest switch and the control module. Remedy or replace the wiring, then continue with AB B6.
AB B5 Replacing Component:
The likely cause of the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is an internal fault in the control module. Try a new control module, then continue with AB B6.
AB B6 Verification
NOTE: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied as follows.
- Ignition off.
- Raise the lever and read status of backrest switch in scrolling values.
- Move seat to entry position and return to original position.
Does the seat return to the original position?
- Yes: Fault corrected.
- No: Fault not found.
