ECM-9160 THROTTLE UNIT, INTERNAL FAULT
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) INFORMATION




Condition
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-9160 is stored if the electronic throttle module registers an internal or external fault.

Substitute value
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking.

The following only applies in combination with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-9150:
- the throttle unit in mechanical limp home mode, the throttle disc in the fixed position.

Possible source
- something is blocking the throttle position sensor (an oil film, dust, ect.)
- poorly charged battery or corroded in the connecting cables
- power supply to the throttle unit
- defective throttle unit

Fault symptom[s]
- the accelerator pedal (AP) is ignored when braking
- the ETS warning lamp lights (C70 and S/V70 -2000 only).

The following only applies in combination with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-9150:
- neven idle
- jerks during engine braking
- very poor accelerator response
- maximum speed approximately 50 km/h.
