Signal Too High - Intermittent Fault

SIGNAL TOO HIGH - INTERMITTENT FAULT

Checking cables



Check signal cable between Knock Sensor (KS) # 1 and control module # A46 (# A46) and ground lead between Knock Sensor (KS) # 2 and control module # A64 (# B4) for an intermittent short-circuit to supply voltage according to [1][2]Checking Wiring and Terminals. Intermittent Faults

Check that Knock Sensor (KS) is tightened to correct torque.

Hint: The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be caused by a worn engine. Start the engine and listen for discordant noise.
