Checking Connectors

Checking Connectors

- Ignition off.
- Check and remedy the ECC Control module and engine Control module (ECM) connectors for contact resistance and oxidation

Carefully check for any damage etc.
- To disconnect ECC control module, see Replacing ECC control module.
- Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.
- Ignition on.
- Read off Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT).

Check the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) reading is correct. Compare with the actual coolant temperature of the engine.

Hint: To obtain the engine temperature, read off Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) from the engine control module (ECM).

If temperature is now OK this indicates that the fault was caused by poor contact in the connectors.

Is the temperature reading OK?

Yes - Test Complete

No - Checking Cables
