Checking the mechanical transmission cables and levers on the transmission
Check the mechanical transmission cables and levers as follows.
- Test drive the car to determine what the problem is
- From the engine compartment check that the levers move freely in all gears
- Check that there are no components obstructing the levers when the car is being driven
- Check that the mechanical transmission cables run freely. Check that all mounting points are OK.
Remedy any faults. Replace defective components.
If the mechanical transmission cables and levers move freely but the problem persists, replace the transmission.
