Replacing/Adjusting Control Cable & Control Panel

TTTF1 Preparations, passenger side






- Remove glove compartment
- Remove soundproofing panel
- Remove floor air ducts

TTTF2






- Detach control cable from climate control unit.


TTTF3 Preparations, driver's side
- Remove soundproofing panel
- Remove floor carpet supports.
- Detach control cable from climate control unit.


TTTF4 Preparations, center console
- Detach radio if installed, pull forward and place on center console so the opening of the radio compartment is exposed.


NOTE! The radio can cause scratches on panels etc.







TTTF5 Removing control panel/front section
- Remove passenger compartment temperature selectors (dial knobs)
- Unscrew screws.
- Disconnect connectors.
- Remove control panel/front section.


TTTF6 Removing control cables/mechanical rear panel








- Detach control cables/mechanical rear panel by freeing the locking catches.
- Remove control cables/mechanical rear panel through the opening for the radio.


NOTE! The control cables can cause scratches on panels etc.


TTTF7 Replacing control cables on the removed mechanical rear panel






Removing
- Detach the cable fastening from the rear panel.
- Detach the control cables from the rear panel.

Installing
- Install the control cables on the rear panel.
- Install the cable fastening on the rear panel.


TTTF8 Installing control cables/mechanical rear plate








- Locate control cables/mechanical rear plate in position through the opening for the radio.
- Feed in the control cables to their correct position.
- Pull the connectors through the opening to the control panel/front section.
- Install control cables/mechanical rear panel.


TTTF9 Installing control panel/front section
- Connect connectors.
- Screw control panel/front section into position.
- Install passenger compartment temperature selectors (dial knobs).


TTTF10 Installing control cables on climate control unit






- Install cable on actuator arm.
- Turn the passenger compartment temperature selector counter-clockwise as far as possible.
- Press actuator arm to the bottom position.
- Install cable sleeve in the cable fastening.


TTTF11 Check







- Turn the passenger compartment temperature selector clockwise as far as possible and listen for the sound of the damper when it reaches its limit position.
- Check that both limit positions for the passenger compartment temperature selector are parallel with the control panel. If not adjust according to TTTF12.


TTTF12 Adjustment of the passenger compartment temperature selector limit positions








- Detach control cable sheath from the climate control unit.
- Turn the passenger compartment temperature selector counter-clockwise as far as possible.
- Press actuator arm to the bottom position.
- Install cable sleeve in the cable fastening.
- Check passenger compartment temperature selector limit positions according to TTTF11.


TTTF13 Supplementary operations








- Reinstall radio, if any.
- Install floor carpet supports, driver's side.
- Reinstall air duct to floor
- Install soundproofing panels
- Install glove compartment
