Checking convertible top control switch
Checking connector and wiring
- Check control module connector A. Check for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault
- Ignition on
- Read off the status of the control switch
- Activate the switch for the convertible top raised and folded positions.
Status should vary between activation (switch on) and no activation (switch off) for the respective positions.

Does the status change in both positions?
Yes - Verification
No - Checking the component

- Ignition off
- Check the control switch connector for contact resistance and oxidation according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between terminal #6 and ground.
Activate the micro-switch in the up position.
Test for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
Connect an ohmmeter between terminal #3 and ground.
Activate the micro-switch in the down position.
Test for an open-circuit according to Checking wiring and terminals. Permanent fault Checking Wiring and Terminals. Permanent Fault.
If an open-circuit is found, replace the switch.
If an open-circuit is not found there is probably a fault in the cable between the control module and control switch.
Remedy as necessary.

Note! After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Reinstall components, reconnect connectors etc.
- Speed < 4 km/h
- Parking brake applied
- Ignition on.
Activate the control switch for convertible top operation.
It should be possible to operate the convertible top in both directions.
Is the control switch functioning correctly?
Yes - VERIFIED
No - VERIFICATION FAILED
