Headlamp Wiper Arm: Service and Repair

FB1 Removing





- Ignition off.
- Push cover to one side when installing wiper arm.
- Slacken off the nut, unscrew a few turns to protect the thread on the wiper mechanism spindle.

Remove:
- wiper arm from wiper arm mechanism spindle by supporting a pipe wrench on the nut and pressing off the arm.
- nut.
- arm.
- washer hose from wiper arm.

FB2 Installing

Install:
- wiper arm.
- nut loosely.

Adjust position of wiper arm as shown.

NOTE: Adjust headlamp wiper on the right of the car so that the wiper blade is just under the stop when the nut is tightened. Then lift the blade over the stop, the blade should be pressed against the stop. As shown in "A". On the left of the car the blade should be above the stop when the nut is tightened. As shown in "B".

Tighten nuts to 4 Nm (2.9 ft.lbs).
Test headlamp wiper function. Check that wiper arms park horizontally.
