Condition
The vibration is caused by force from the wheels when the transmission is disengaged. The force runs from the wheels though the transmission to the coupling sleeve which starts to vibrate. This vibration is transmitted through the mechanical transmission cables to the gear selector lever. The noise occurs most when the transmission is cold or warm and when changing from first to second and second to third.
Possible source
- Defective cables
- Defective transmission.
