Adapting a drift




To facilitate removal of the CVJs, grind a drift as shown in the illustration. Rounding the lower edge (R) means that the drift will not catch in the drive shaft circlip groove. The sharper angle (approx. 60°) means that drift has a greater surface contact with the inner ring.
