Clutch Pedal Assembly: Service and Repair

Clutch pedal, replacement

Release clutch pedal




- Remove panel under dashboard. Cars with SRS: Remove knee bolster.
- Fold carpet back.
- Remove clip holding clutch master cylinder pushrod to clutch pedal.

Lift off pushrod from clutch pedal





Note! Hold pedal down to prevent it pushing upwards against cruise control contact (if fitted).

Now push clutch pedal down towards floor.
Lift assist spring off of clutch pedal.

Remove pedal from pedal assembly




- Remove retaining clip and remove clutch pedal.

Check clutch pedal bushings
- Lubricate bushings, use grease 1161241-3 .
- Re-install clutch pedal bushings.

Install new clutch pedal to pedal assembly




- Install a new clip on the clutch pedal spindle.
- Push pedal down and fit spring to pedal.

Note! Note! Hold pedal down to prevent it pushing upwards against cruise control contact (if fitted).

Install:




- Clip holding clutch master cylinder pushrod to clutch pedal. Cars with SRS: Install knee bolster. Tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.).
- Panel below dashboard.
Put carpet back.
