Adjusting the Transmission Cable






Adjusting the transmission cable

Preparing for adjustment




Park the car on a level surface.
Do not apply the parking brake.
Remove the inlet pipe for the air cleaner (ACL).
Move the gear selector to position D .
Pull up the locking tab at the cable adjuster slightly. Use flat nosed pliers.

Checking the P position




Move the gear selector to position P .
Turn the lever on the transmission to position P (the foremost position).
Check that P position is engaged: Try to roll the car.

Checking the gear positions




Press the locking tab into place on the cable adjuster.
Check the gear positions.
Install the air intake pipe on the air cleaner (ACL).
