Rear Locking Arm Potentiometer

REPLACING THE REAR LOCKING ARM POTENTIOMETER

Replacing the potentiometer, rear locking arm

Caution: Removed potentiometers must not be reinstalled. Their function cannot be guaranteed due to play between the turning plate in the potentiometer and the shaft. Removing the potentiometer, rear locking arm Ignition on.






Set the cover in the position illustrated.

Note: The rear latch must be in its mechanical limit position. Use the Volvo Scan Tool (VST) to achieve this position.

Ignition off.
The potentiometer is placed on the left of the 2 rear latches.






Remove:
- the connector
- 1 Allen screw.

Note: Note the position of the potentiometer housing in relation to the rear latch. Carefully pull the potentiometer off the shaft.

Installing the potentiometer, rear locking arm

Caution: The potentiometer must be secured straight on the shaft. Use the screw of the potentiometer as a guide.

The potentiometer is factory set and cannot be rotated.

Install:
- the potentiometer
- the Allen screw. Tighten
- the connector.
The potentiometer must be calibrated after replacement. See Programming and calibrating the convertible system. Testing and Inspection
