Front Lock Microswitch


Before starting work, see CHA. Preparations Before Work. Procedures

CHM11 Removal:





- Move hood to the position shown in the image.
- Ignition off.
- Make a note of any radio code.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.





- Remove 6 screws and the locker.





Remove:
- connector. Remove plastic sheath so only the pin remains in the connector.
- panel above windscreen beam.
- A-pillar panel.

- Carefully lift wiring over dashboard.
- Remove cable ties from wiring in A-pillar.





Remove:
- screws from lock housing.

TIP: Before removing lock housing, mark its position.

- lock housing.

- Remove microswitch by pressing it carefully out.
- Remove microswitch and wiring.

CHM12 Installation:
- Remove plastic sheath from new connector and note position of pin.

Install:
- lock housing.
- wiring with new cable ties.

- Feed new wiring down through hole between A-pillar and dashboard.
- Install plastic sheath on pin.
- Connect connector in locker.
- Test microswitch.

Install:
- A-pillar panel in reverse order.
- panel above windscreen beam.
- locker and 6 screws.
