Glass Splinter Removal

Broken Glass From The Windshield Or Front Side Window
If the windshield or front side window cracks or breaks (in a collision for example) broken glass may get into the defroster and ventilation ducts.
To avoid small particles of glass being blown out of the vents when the car has been repaired, the defroster duct and air vents should be blown through and vacuumed before a new windshield is installed.

WARNING: Use safety glasses when blowing defroster duct clean or vacuuming.

When cleaning defroster:

- Set the controls to "defroster" and run the blower fan at its highest speed.
- At the same time vacuum the windshield and side window defroster vents using a vacuum cleaner.
Clean and vacuum with windshield removed, if removing windshield.

When cleaning ventilation ducts:

- Set the controls to "ventilation" and run the blower fan at its highest speed.
- Open one vent at a time and vacuum outside the dashboard ventilation vents.
