Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair






Replacing the accelerator pedal module

Note! If you are working on the S80, click here.

Removing the accelerator pedal module




Remove the stop lug in the connector on the pedal module.
Disconnect the pedal module connector.
Remove the pedal module.

Installing the accelerator pedal module
Install the pedal module. Tighten to 10 Nm .
Connect the module connector.
Install the stop lug in the connector on the pedal module.

Note! After replacing the accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor, the engine must be run at idling speed for a couple of minutes before normal operation can resume. The is because the system adapts the new accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor to compensate for any differences between the components. If this is not carried out there will be a dead point in the accelerator pedal (AP) position sensor.
