Replacing refrigerant pipe/hose or expansion valve

Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit
Warning! Follow the safety instructions for work on air conditioning systems Refrigerant, safety regulations Refrigerant, Safety Regulations.
Note! When replacing a receiver/drier always replace O-rings in pipes and quick-release connectors.
Note! Always plug pipes and connectors when working on the climate control system.
Note! Read the section covering oil in the system.
Replacing refrigerant pipe/hose; compressor - condenser
Removing refrigerant pipe/hose; compressor - condenser
- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant, according to Refrigerant, overview Refrigerant, Overview and Emptying/vacuum pumping/filling with refrigerant Emptying/Vacuum Pumping/Filling With Refrigerant.
- Raise the car.
- Remove air baffle.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from condenser.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from compressor.
Installing refrigerant pipe/hose; compressor - condenser
In reverse order.
Tighten to 25±6 Nm.
Replacing refrigerant pipe/hose; condenser - member
Removing refrigerant pipe/hose; condenser - member
- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant, according to Refrigerant, overview Refrigerant, Overview and Emptying/vacuum pumping/filling with refrigerant Emptying/Vacuum Pumping/Filling With Refrigerant.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from its connector on the member.
- Raise the car.
- Remove air baffle.
- Disconnect pipe/hose from condenser.
Installing refrigerant pipe/hose; condenser - member
In reverse order.
Tighten to 25±6 Nm.
Removing refrigerant pipe/hose; member - evaporator
- Drain the system of refrigerant, according to Refrigerant, overview Refrigerant, Overview and Emptying/vacuum pumping/filling with refrigerant Emptying/Vacuum Pumping/Filling With Refrigerant.
- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Remove control module box fresh air intake hose and exhaust hose.
Diesel engines:
- Remove fuel filter with bracket.
- Remove expansion tank.
- Disconnect condenser pipe/hose from its connector on the member.
- Disconnect pipe from member.
- Disconnect pipe from evaporator with wrench 999 5385 KEY 999 5385 Key.
Replacing/cleaning expansion valve
Removing expansion valve
- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant, according to Refrigerant, overview Refrigerant, Overview and Emptying/vacuum pumping/filling with refrigerant Emptying/Vacuum Pumping/Filling With Refrigerant.
- Mark the position of the pipes in relation to each other at the flanged joint.
- Disconnect at the flanged joint.
- Remove expansion valve.
Installing expansion valve
In reverse order.
Tighten to 30 Nm.
Installing refrigerant pipe/hose; member - evaporator
In reverse order.
Replacing refrigerant pipe; evaporator - receiver drier
Removing refrigerant pipe; evaporator - receiver drier
- Read Before starting work on the refrigerant circuit.
- Drain the system of refrigerant, according to Refrigerant, overview Refrigerant, Overview and Emptying/vacuum pumping/filling with refrigerant Emptying/Vacuum Pumping/Filling With Refrigerant.
- Remove control module box fresh air intake hose and exhaust hose.
Diesel engines:
- Remove fuel filter with bracket.
- Remove expansion tank.
- Disconnect pipe from receiver drier with wrench 999 5472 KEY 5/8" 999 5472 Key 5/8".
- Disconnect pipe from evaporator with wrench 999 5385 KEY 999 5385 Key.
- Remove pressure switch (Pressostat) from pipe.
Installing refrigerant pipe; evaporator - receiver drier
In reverse order.
Replacing refrigerant pipe/hose; receiver drier - air conditioning (A/C) compressor
Replacing pipe/hose; receiver drier - compressor according to Replacing receiver / drier or suction pipe Removal and Replacement.
