Camber Angle, Adjusting
Camber angle, adjusting
For cars from model year 1994-
Note! Camber angle is to be adjusted if it lies outside of the tolerance 0° ± 1°. Variation between the left and right side may be no more than 1°.
Adjust as follows:
Put the car on blocks and remove the wheels.
Cars with sockets in the wheel spindles:
Remove the upper socket from the wheel spindle (or both sockets, depending on the amount of adjustment required). One socket generates an angle change of approx. 0.5° . If both sockets are removed, the change is approx. 1° .
Cars without sockets in the wheel spindles:
Replace the screws and nuts and adjust as described below.
Note! Fit new screws and nuts to the wheel spindles.
Tighten the screws slightly - only enough that the wheel spindle can be moved with some resistance outward or inward in relation to the bumper support. Then turn the wheel spindle outward or inward as much as the clearance between the hole and screw allows.
After adjustment, tighten both screws to 65 and angle tighten to 90° .
Mount the wheels.
Apply anti-corrosion agent, part number 1161030-0, to the hub guide.
Insert the lug bolts. Then tighten in a crisscross pattern to 110 Nm .
