Level sensor fuel tank

Note! Some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.
Removal
Remove the rear seat. See Rear seats Rear Seats.
Remove:
- all floor covers and fold the carpet to one side
- the cover over the fuel pump unit.
Remove:
- 4 x screws
- the right-hand loudspeaker (option).
Remove:
- 4 x M6 screws
- the cover.
Warning! The tank must be supported by a gearbox jack or the like before the tank strap bolts are removed.
Remove the protective cover over the fuel level sensor (if installed).
If the protective cover is difficult to remove, detach the tank straps and filler pipe slightly, so that the position of the tank can be adjusted.
Detach and separate the connector that belongs to the fuel level sensor.
Removing the fuel level sensor
Caution! Ensure that no fuel is spilt when the fuel level sensor is removed.
Detach and remove the nut, use 999 5486 KEY 999 5486 Key
Carefully pull up the fuel level sensor half way and allow the fuel to run back.
Remove the fuel level sensor and the old gasket.
Caution! Screw the fuel level sensor's nut back on the tank's threads if the new fuel level sensor is not fitted immediately. The tank's threads could be deformed otherwise.
Installation
Installing a new fuel level sensor
Note! The arrow on the fuel level sensor should point between the markings on the tape.
Install a new gasket for the fuel level sensor.
Lubricate the face towards the nut on the fuel level sensor. This is to prevent the fuel level sensor turning when tightening the nut. Use petroleum jelly or similar.
Carefully insert the new fuel level sensor.
Align the fuel level sensor with the marking on the tank.
Install the nut. Tighten to 30 Nm
Cable routing
Secure the string on the cable harness to the new fuel level sensor.
Carefully pull the fuel level sensor cable harness back.
Check that the fuel level sensor cable harness has been inserted back to the left-hand side of the vehicle.
Connect the connector and reinstall in the holder.
Reinstall the protective cover.
Install:
- the cover
- 4 x M6 screws.
Install:
- the right-hand loudspeaker (option)
- 4 x screws
Install:
- all floor covers and fold the carpet to one side
- the cover over the fuel pump unit.
