Programming the Combined Instrument Panel

Programming the combined instrument panel

Programming procedures
The following can be programmed into the combined instrument panel:
Programming:
- New odometer setting (new combined instrument panels only).
- 3 conditions must be fulfilled so that the service reminder indicator (SRI) will light.
- If the instrument panel displays zeroes for the mileage.
- The fuel level where the fuel level warning lamp should light.
- Calibration of the fuel consumption function in the trip computer.
- New tire circumference (by downloading new software).

Checking the odometer setting, km

Reading the odometer setting, km
Programming the odometer setting (new combined instrument panels only).
The odometer setting can be programmed between 0 and 999999 km. It is only possible to program this parameter once and then only if the reading is below 500 kms.
The upper field displays YES if the mileage can be programmed. If programming is not permitted NO is displayed. This means either that the mileage has been programmed before or that the mileage has exceeded 500 kms. The actual stored mileage is displayed in the next upper field.
To program the mileage enter the required value in km. Select Confirm if the value is correct. Then select Start programming.
After programming is complete, NO is displayed in the uppermost field. The programmed distance is displayed in the lower field.

Caution! Programming can only be carried out ONCE so take care when setting the mileage.

Note! To ensure that the service interval for the service reminder indicator (SRI) functions correctly after a combined instrument panel has been replaced, the procedures for setting the service reminder indicator (SRI) to zero must be carried out. Checking distance conditions for service (km)
There are 3 service parameters which can be programmed. This parameter is used to set the number of km a car can be driven before the Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) lights. 2,500, 5,000, 7,500, 10,000, 12,500, 15,000, or 20,000 km can be selected.
To change the service parameter, mark the desired value in the list and start programming.

There are three service parameters that can be programmed. This parameter is used to set the number of months before the Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) lights. The following options are available:
- 6 months
- 12 months
To change the service parameter, mark the desired value in the list and start programming.

Checking the engine time conditions for service

There are 3 service parameters which can be programmed. This parameter is used to set the number of hours an engine can be run before the Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) is lit. Options are: 500, 750, or 1000 hours.
To change the service parameter, mark the desired value in the list and start programming.

Continue - Checking the customer setting zeroes

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the customer setting zeroes

There is the possibility of setting the instrument panel to display or not display the zeroes. When displaying zeroes all the digit in front of the number of driven kilometers will be filled out with zero, when not displaying zeroes these positions are blank.
If the setting is to be changed, mark the required setting in the list and start programming.

Continue - Checking the fuel level warning lamp

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the fuel level warning lamp

Checking the warning lamp for low fuel level
If the warning lamp for low fuel level lights at a fuel level other than 8 liters (2 US gallons), it is possible to calibrate the fuel level sensor so that the warning lamp lights at the correct level. There are two methods. Select the suitable alternative to continue.
1. A value is added to or subtracted from the read off value for the fuel level
2. The fuel tank is drained and a control quantity of fuel is added.

Select suitable alternative to continue.

1 - Adjusting the fuel level value

2 - Calibration by filling with fuel

------------------------

Adjusting the fuel level value
Normally the fuel level warning lamp should light when there are 8 liters of fuel remaining. Click on the symbol for VCT2000 to begin calibration.
The present calibration is displayed in the upper field. If no calibration is carried out, 0 is displayed. If the fuel level warning lamp lights at too low a level, for example 6 liters, mark -2 on the list.
If the fuel level warning lamp lights at too high a level, for example 10 liters, mark +2 on the list. A maximum deviation of 2 liters from the actual value can be corrected using this method.

Continue - Checking the trip computer calibration

------------------------

Calibration by filling with fuel
- Drain the fuel tank
- Fill with an exact quantity of fuel according to one of the following alternatives:
Fill with an exact quantity of fuel according to one of the following alternatives:
10 liters, 15 liters, 20 liters, 2 US gallons, 3 US gallons, 4 US gallons.
Activate the calibration with the Program button.

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the trip computer calibration

If the trip computer fuel consumption function does not displays the correct value there is the possibility of calibration. Read off the current value for the current calibration.
If the fuel consumption displayed by the trip computer is too low, mark a suitable positive value in the list. If the fuel consumption displayed by the trip computer is too high, mark a suitable negative value in the list. Activate calibration with the Program button.

Continue - Checking the tire circumference

-------------------------------------------------

Checking the tire circumference

Reading off / Programming the tire circumference
A value for tire circumference is stored in the combined instrument panel. It is important that the correct value is programmed when for example, changing to a new tire size, because this will affect the speedometer, odometer and trip computer.
Click on the symbol for VCT 2000 to read off the current value that is programmed.
If the value needs to be changed, new software must be ordered and downloaded into the combined instrument panel.
- Circumference 1,879 mm applies to:
195/60VR15, 205/45ZR17, 205/50ZR16, 205/55WR15
- Circumference 1,938 mm applies to:
205/55WR16 (AWD R), 215/45WR17
