Notes for Replacing Connection Plate
DDA1 Replacing Combined Instrument Panel or Connection Plate:
CAUTION:
- Read all information in Diagnostics, "Read and Program Combined Instrument Panel." See Testing and Inspection Procedures, How to Display and Read Diagnostic trouble Codes, Functions of Volvo Scan Tool, Reading Off and Programming Combined Instrument Panel. Testing and Inspection
- Replace combined instrument panel according to DDB or connection plate according to DDJ. See "Procedure."
- Program connection plate according to Diagnostics, "Read and Program Combined Instrument Panel".
NOTE: It is important to follow the instructions in Diagnostics. Read/program combined instrument panel.
- Read and erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
DDA2 When Replacing the Component:
CAUTION: When working on the combined instrument panel observe the following:
Cleanliness: the workplace must be free of dust, dirt, oil and solvents.
- Always wash your hands before disassembling the combined instrument panel. Do not use hand cream or lotion after washing. Use protective gloves of thin cotton. Synthetic materials can cause static electricity.
- Do not expose the connection plate to static electricity.
- Do not touch connection plate or dial surfaces.
- Do not change the position of needles. They are factory calibrated. If the needles are moved the instrument may display the wrong reading.
