Version Introduction

The air conditioning systems in the Volvo C70, S70 and V70 have been modified, compared with those in the 850.

There are 3 versions of the air conditioning systems, as before:
- ECC (Electronic Climate Control), a fully automatic air conditioning system with a manual setting option.
- MCC (Manual Climate Control), a manual air conditioning system.
- STD (Standard heater), a manual heating system without air conditioning.

MCC:
- The new control panel includes a new look and separate jog switches for A/C and recirculation.
- The air distribution selectors are now controlled by one motor, as for ECC.
- A control module operates the recirculation and air distribution motors.
- Self-adjustment of the recirculation and air distribution motors.
- In-built diagnostics in the control module.
- In-built emergency programs for some fault types.
- Fault indication via flashing of the LED for recirculation.
- Faults are indicated by flashing codes from the LED for recirculation.
- Automatic recirculation control at top fan speed.
- Automatic engagement of A/C in the defroster position.
- The A/C compressor is controlled by the engine management system, moving the A/C relay from the heater unit to the fusebox

STD:
The standard heater benefits from the same as MCC, except for those to the air conditioning system.
