Replacing water pump

Removing

Note! The water pump can be replaced without moving the heater to its service position.

Preparations
Remove the lower air baffle.
Location of components see Additional heater 912-D Locations.

Water pump




Install hose clamps on both hoses connected to the water pump.
Position a container under the water pump to collect coolant.
Disconnect water pump hoses.
Disconnect the water pump connector.
Remove the screw holding the water pump to the bracket.
Remove the water pump holder.

Note! Note the position of holder on the water pump.

Installing

Water pump




Connect the rear engine coolant hose to the water pump.

Install:
- water pump holder.
- water pump on bracket. Torque to 8 Nm .
Connect the front engine coolant hose to the water pump. Tighten clamps to 3 Nm .
Remove hose clamps.
Connect water pump connector.

Finishing:




Test start the heater and check for leaks.
Install the lower air baffle.
Top up coolant.
