Auxiliary Cabin Heater Overheat Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair






Replacing overheat protection, thermostat flame sensor and coolant temperature sensor

Removing

Preparations
Move heater to service position according to Moving the heater to its service position Procedures.

Removing components





Hint: This method can also be used to separate cables to when measuring.

Note! If the engine coolant temperature sensor is being removed hose clips must be applied to both coolant pipes at the heat exchanger.




Overheat protection thermostat and coolant temperature sensor:

Remove:
- the fuel line quick-release connector, coolant temperature sensor and overheat protection thermostat cover.
- engine coolant temperature sensor and overheat protection thermostat holder.
Cut the cables to the engine coolant temperature sensor, alternatively overheat protection thermostat, approximately 2 cm away from it and strip the cables 4-5 mm.

Flame sensor:

Remove:
- fan shroud.
Remove flame sensor.
Cut the cables to the flame sensor approximately 2-cm away from it and strip the cables 4-5 mm.

Installing

Installing components
Splice wiring according to Splicing using insulated moisture proof butt connector Splicing Using Insulated Moisture Proof Butt Connector.
Reinstall components.
Reinstall heater according to Moving the heater to its service position Procedures.
Check so that no DTCs are stored during the repair.
