Preparations

Remove the 4 screws holding the heat deflector onto the central cross member.
Drill out the 2 blind rivets holding the rear heat deflector to the cross member.
Remove the 2 screws and nuts holding the exhaust pipe onto the rear cross member.
Slide the rear heat deflector forward over the front heat deflector to expose the right brake pipe.

Remove the brake pipe from the clips and mountings

Remove:
- the brake pipe from its clips
- and disassemble the brake pipe at the joint
- the screw at the mounting for the fuel filter. Fold the mounting down.

Remove the bracket and the brake pipe

Remove the screw (1) from the bracket holding the brake pipe and brake hose.
Disassemble the brake pipe (2) and brake hose at the bracket.

Remove the brake pipe from the car

Turn the brake pipe to the right under the rubber parking brake bellows and down between the bodywork and the fuel lines.

Install the new brake pipe

Note: Tape the ends of the pipe before installing the new brake pipe.

Thread the brake pipe between the bodywork and the fuel lines.
Continue under the parking brake cable and over the muffler down to the other brake pipe.
Remove the masking tape.
Assemble the brake pipes. Tighten to 14 Nm.
Assemble the brake pipe and the brake hose in the bracket. Tighten to 18 Nm.

Install the bracket, mounting plate and brake pipe

Install:
- the bracket in its mounting. Tighten to 25 Nm
- the screws and nuts for the mounting plate. Tighten to 25 Nm
- the brake pipe in its clips.

Note: The brake pipe must not be in contact with the car body. The brake hose must not be twisted.

Install the cross members and heat shield

Pull back the rear heat deflector to line up with the holes.
Blind rivet the heat deflector to the cross member
Install the screws, nuts and heat deflector on the rear cross member. Tighten all screws and nuts to 25 Nm.

Separate and disconnect the brake pipe

Separate the brake pipe at the joint nipple under the car.
Remove the brake pipe from its clips.

Install the new brake pipe

Note: The new brake pipe must be bent into the correct shape when installing. This is important otherwise the pipe may be subject to stresses when it is in place.

Install:
- the brake pipe between the joint nipple and the bracket
- the brake pipe in the joint nipple. Tighten to 18 Nm

Install the brake pipe and the bracket

Install:
- the brake pipe to the brake hose (1) at the bracket.
Tighten to 17 Nm
- the brake pipe in its clips
- the bracket in its mounting (2). Tighten to 25 Nm

Note: The brake pipe must not be in contact with the car body. Ensure that the brake hose is not twisted. If necessary alter the hose at the other end (brake pipe end). If the brake hose is twisted it may rub against the tire, rim or wheel arch. This could cause the circuit to fail.

Remove the pedal jack.
