Lifting the power seat in and out

Special tools:
951 1522 Ground lead 951 1522 Ground Lead

Removing seats

Preparations

Note! When removing a seat from a car with side airbags, the seat must be grounded. This is due to the danger of static electricity. When the seat has been removed from its screwed joint, but before it is lifted out, secure ground lead 951 1522 Ground lead 951 1522 Ground Lead or splice a suitable length of cable (stripped at both ends) to the rear mounting or similar. The rear mounting is metal colored). Secure the other end in the car to a suitable metal object that has a greater mass than the seat.

Remove:
- the battery negative terminal.
- the seat belt from the seat rail according to Front seat belt Front Seat Belt.

Removal





Note! Before removing seats, see SRS connector SRS Connector.

Remove:
- the panels (B) over the seat rails.
- the 4 mounting bolts (C) in the seat rails.
- the five connectors (under the seat).
- lift the seat straight up (locating pins at the front and rear edges).

Installing seats

Installation
In reverse order.
Tightening torques, seats / floor: 40± 10 Nm
