Backrest Motor and Potentiometer



Replacing the backrest motor and potentiometer

Preparations

Remove:






- the battery negative lead.
- the seat from the car according to Lifting the power seat in and out Lifting Power Seat In & Out
- the upholstery according to Backrest upholstery [1][2]Procedures
- the locking washer from the drive shaft.






Remove the screw securing the motor mounting.
Pull out the drive shaft far enough that the motor with the potentiometer can be removed.
Cut off the tie strap.
Disconnect the connectors for the motor and the potentiometer.
Remove one screw.
Remove the potentiometer from the motor using a screwdriver.

Note! Check the position of the potentiometer on the motor before removing it.

Replace the motor/potentiometer.
Connect the motor and potentiometer.

Install:

In reverse order.
