AEA1 Read "Description and Operation":
If you are uncertain about the operation of the Convertible System or its components.
Then continue with: AEA2
AEA2 Read the Service Precautions, both Technician Safety Information and Vehicle Damage Warnings, in it's entirety.:
Then continue with:
- AEA3
AEA3 Read and Note Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
- Read "How to Display and Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes."
- If you cannot communicate with the Convertible system control unit, see BRB "Checking Communication with Convertible System Control Unit" under "Diagnosis By Symptom." Testing and Inspection
Read and note the diagnostic trouble codes. Have any diagnostic trouble codes been stored?
Yes: AEA4
No: AEA6
AEA4 Table of Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
- Deal with the diagnostic trouble codes according to the instructions and then erase the diagnostic trouble codes.
- Ignition on.
- Test run the Convertible system as described in BOA. Testing Convertible System (Operational Tests). Testing and Inspection
Read the diagnostic trouble codes. Are one or more diagnostic trouble codes stored again?
Yes: AEA4
No: AEA5
AEA5 No diagnostic Trouble Code Stored:
Diagnostic trouble symptoms remain?
Yes: AEA6
No: AEA8
AEA6 Table of Symptoms:
- Select the appropriate diagnostic trouble symptom and deal with it in accordance with the instructions.
- Test run the Convertible system as described in BOA. Testing Convertible System (Operational Tests). Testing and Inspection
- Look out for any possible symptoms
Diagnostic trouble symptom remains?
Yes: AEA7
No: AEA8
AEA7 Test Box and Parameter Tables:
- Connect the test box and check the grounding points. See "Breakout Box and Parameter Tables (Pin-Out). Testing and Inspection
Then continue with: AEA8
AEA8 Inspection:
- Reset the car after trouble-shooting/repair.
- Check that no diagnostic trouble codes have been stored in the other systems during trouble-shooting.
- Erase any diagnostic trouble codes before returning the car to the customer.
Then continue with: Fault corrected
