BT. Checking the Lit SRS Warning Lamp

Condition
The SRS warning lamp comes on but no diagnostic trouble code is displayed.

Possible Source
The lamp housing or wire has short circuited to ground.

Fault Symptom(s)
SRS warning lamp on.



BTB. Checking The Lit SRS Warning Lamp







BTB1. Checking the lamp housing


Ignition off.
Disconnect control unit.
Ignition on.

Short circuit the control unit connector pin 30 to ground.
If the combination instrument is working correctly the lamp will go off.
Does the lamp go off?
Yes: Fault not found
No: Go to BTB2.


BTB2. Checking the combination instrument






The trouble-shooting indicates that there is a short circuit to ground in the combination instrument. Check the combination instrument. Operation done.
