BXA. Re-Checking
Special tools: 861 8437
BXA1. General
When checking and trouble-shooting the SRS system it is important to use special tools which are free from faults. A defective special tool will cause an incorrect display in the diagnostic system and makes checking and trouble-shooting harder.
To ensure that the special tool is not defective, the tool should be re-checked with an ohmmeter before using. Then continue with:

BXA2. Detaching resistance
Detach the resistance by removing the part shown in the figure.
Check for any damage on the connector and cabling.
Then continue with BXA.3
BXA3. Re-checking resistance
Use an ohmmeter to check the resistance of the special tool.
Connect the ohmmeter to the pin on the special tool, as shown in the figure. The ohmmeter should display between 1.65 and 2.35 Ohms
If reading Is OK: Go to BXA4.
If reading is incorrect: Go to BXA5.
BXA4. Information on fault localization
The special tool is OK.
Remove the wire from the pin.
Operation done
BXA5. Information on fault localization
The special tool is defective.
Replace the tool with a new one
Fault corrected
